AKTU Lateral Entry Guide 2026
What is Lateral Entry?
Lateral entry allows diploma holders to get direct admission into 2nd year (3rd semester) of B.Tech programs in AKTU affiliated colleges.
Eligibility Criteria
- Passed 3-year diploma in relevant branch
- Minimum 45% marks in diploma (40% for reserved categories)
- From recognized polytechnic/board
- Branch should be related to B.Tech program
Admission Process
- Appear in lateral entry entrance exam (if applicable)
- Register for UPTAC lateral entry counselling
- Fill choice preferences
- Attend document verification
- Get seat allotment
- Pay fees and confirm admission
- Report to allotted college
